This Privacy Policy describes how Frontburner collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use our website at getfrontburner.com and our platform services. By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We take privacy seriously. We collect only what we need, we do not sell your data, and we do not display advertising. This policy is designed to be plain-language and readable — not buried in legal jargon.
Frontburner is a digital platform company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, that provides software tools and services to food truck operators and other food service businesses. Our registered business address and contact information are available upon request at [email protected].
When you register for an account, purchase a plan, or fill out our onboarding questionnaire, we collect: your name and contact information (email address, phone number); your business name and business contact details; your menu items, pricing, and business description; your brand assets including colors, logo files, and photos you upload; your social media handles and website URLs; payment information — we use Stripe to process payments and never store your full credit card number, CVV, or billing account credentials on our servers; and any other information you provide in forms, emails, or messages to us.
When you use our website or platform, we automatically collect: IP address and approximate geographic location; browser type, operating system, and device type; pages visited, time spent on pages, and navigation paths; referring URLs and search terms; date and time of your visits; and crash reports and error logs. We collect this using standard web technologies including server logs and cookies. We do not use advertising tracking technologies or behavioral advertising profiles.
If you connect a third-party service to your Frontburner account — such as Square for menu synchronization — we will receive information from that service as necessary to provide the integration. We use this information only to deliver the integration features you request and do not share it with other third parties.
When your customers use an ordering app we build for your food truck business, we collect their names, contact information, order history, and payment details on your behalf. As a food truck operator using Frontburner, you are responsible for having appropriate notice to your customers about how their information is collected and used. We process this customer data as a service provider acting on your behalf.
We use information we collect to: create and manage your Frontburner account; build, deliver, and maintain your branded app, website, and other platform features; process your subscription payments and send billing-related communications; send you service communications including onboarding emails, build status updates, and support responses; operate the ordering system for your food truck business; analyze usage of our platform in order to improve our features and fix problems; detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service; comply with applicable laws and legal obligations; and respond to your requests, questions, and communications. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles. We do not sell your information to third parties.
We work with trusted third-party service providers who help us deliver the Frontburner platform. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us on your behalf. Current key service providers include: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database and authentication infrastructure), Vercel (website and application hosting), Twilio (SMS notifications), Google (email delivery via Google Workspace), and Square (menu synchronization, only when you opt in).
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: comply with applicable law or a valid legal process; protect the rights, property, or safety of Frontburner, our users, or the public; or detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues.
If Frontburner is acquired, merged with another company, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email and a notice on our website before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We may share your information with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.
We retain your account information and business data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. If you cancel your account, we retain your data for 90 days in case you wish to reactivate. After 90 days, we delete your personal information and business data from our active systems. Some information may be retained in backup archives for up to 12 months before being permanently deleted. We retain transaction records and financial data for seven years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
We use essential cookies to operate the platform. These include session cookies that keep you logged in, security tokens, and cookies that remember your preferences. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without disabling our Service entirely.
We use first-party analytics to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party behavioral advertising analytics. We do not share analytics data with advertisers. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information: all data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS; data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption; access to personal data is restricted to Frontburner personnel who need it to provide the Service; payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 certification; and we use Supabase for database and authentication, which provides enterprise-grade security infrastructure. No security measure is perfect or impenetrable. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].
You have the following rights with respect to your personal information: Access (request a copy of the personal information we hold about you); Correction (request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information); Deletion (request that we delete your personal information, subject to our retention obligations); Data portability (request your data in a machine-readable format); Opt out of marketing (use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us at [email protected]); and Account cancellation (cancel your account at any time from your dashboard settings). To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
Our Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we may have information about a child under 13, contact us at [email protected].
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To submit a request, contact [email protected].
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. We extend the rights described in Section 8 to all users regardless of state.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will: post the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date; send an email notification to all active account holders at least 14 days before changes take effect; and in some cases, ask for your renewed consent. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
